Modern teaching materials at Doloave School

The modernization of education, through equipping schools teaching in Romanian with a smartboard, projector, and laptop, continued on 18 October at “Aksentije Maksimović” Elementary School in Doloave. The project is funded by the Department for Romanians Abroad and the National Council of the Romanian National Minority.

At this school, Romanian-language education is offered only for the lower grades. This year, there is a combined class of first- and second-grade students. For the fourth consecutive year, optional classes in Romanian Language with Elements of National Culture are organized. Twenty students learn Romanian alongside teacher Luciana Ciolac, who noted that the children particularly enjoy singing, dancing, and speaking Romanian. The students confirmed this enthusiasm by performing Romanian songs and dances.

The handover ceremony of the teaching materials was attended by Anca Popa, First Collaborator at the Romanian Embassy in the Republic of Serbia, Daniel Magdu, President of CNMNR, Stevan Mihailov, Coordinator of the CNMNR Information Department, Tiberiu Ciortan, Secretary, and Marinel Petrică, responsible for public procurement.

“I am pleased that the Romanian state could contribute to achieving a special goal for us, namely preserving the Romanian cultural and linguistic heritage among the Romanian minority in Serbia. This is the 27th school to benefit from such support, and there will be more. It is my first time here, and I was very happy to see the children singing and enthusiastic to learn Romanian,” said Anca Popa.
