Students and faculty members of the Department of Romanian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad will benefit from new and modern equipment, provided by the Department for Romanians Everywhere and the National Council of the Romanian National Minority in Serbia through the project “Modernizing Romanian Education in Serbia”.
The department in Novi Sad received a smartboard, a laptop, and a video projector.
“Collaboration with the Department of Romanian Language and Literature has been excellent, confirming how close we are (Romanians and Serbs) when it comes to our shared goals. From our perspective, this donation is more of a gift than a mere contribution to this educational institution, which has supported the formation of exceptional cultural and scientific elites that we are proud of. We have mutually assisted each other in achieving common objectives.
On the 40th anniversary of this Department, I extend my warmest congratulations to all faculty members, and of course, to the leadership and students who have studied here, wishing at least the same level of success for the next 40 years, with close collaboration with educational institutions in Romania and the Romanian state, which remains committed to supporting the learning of the Romanian language in Serbia,” stated Anca Popa, Chief Collaborator at the Romanian Embassy in Belgrade.
“This was the 28th educational institution to receive this donation, but there are other ongoing projects, including scholarships provided by the Romanian state for students attending Romanian-language classes,” added Ms. Popa.
“This donation will undoubtedly contribute to improving the quality and competitiveness of Romanian-language higher education, with the direct beneficiaries being the entire Romanian education system in Vojvodina, since the teachers trained here will go on to become professors in the Romanian educational system,” stated Daniel Bala, Minister-Counselor at the Romanian Consulate in Vršac.
