Discussion on the Romanian community

At the “Žarko Zrenjanin” Elementary School in Satu Nou, a delegation from the Department for Romanians Everywhere (DRP) consisting of Gheorghe Cârciu, State Secretary, Radu Cosma, Director of the Department for Diaspora and Historical Communities, and Victor Ionescu, Cabinet Director, held a meeting with His Grace Father Ieronim, Bishop of Dacia Felix in Vršac, Father Emanuel Tăpălagă, Vicar of Voivodina, other clergy members, Her Excellency Silvia Davidoiu, Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Serbia, the Embassy’s advisors Anca Popa and Adrian Abrudan, Daniel Magdu, President of the National Council of the Romanian National Minority, Stevan Mihailov, Coordinator of the Information Department of CNMNR, and Marinel Blaj, Director of the host school.

At the same school, the DRP delegation was welcomed by students attending Romanian-language classes. The students received them in a classroom equipped with a smartboard, video projector, and laptop, provided with support from the Department for Romanians Everywhere. During the visit, the delegation was presented with a detailed overview of how the educational process in Romanian is conducted at the school.

The visit continued at the headquarters of the “Libertatea” Press and Publishing House in Pančevo. The delegation from the Department for Romanians Everywhere, the Romanian Embassy in Serbia, and the National Council of the Romanian National Minority was welcomed by Mariana Stratulat, Director of CPE “Libertatea”, and Marinel Petrică, Chair of the institution’s Board of Directors.

During this occasion, the DRP delegation was informed about some of the challenges faced by the institution, including issues regarding the restitution of the headquarters building. Additionally, the CPE “Libertatea” publications and the operation of the editorial office were presented, emphasizing the importance of continuous support for the Romanian-language press in Serbia.
