Romanian Language Courses Have Begun

In the rooms of the Office of the Romanian National Minority Council in Kučevo, Eastern Serbia, Romanian language courses have commenced. These courses are open to anyone interested in learning to read and write in Romanian. Various localities such as Cerovița, Bukovska, Svilajnac, Manastirica, Voluja, Golubăț, Radenka, Požarevac, Ševica, Dubočka have expressed interest in learning the Romanian language.

The first Romanian language lesson took place on Saturday, 1 April, starting at 4:00 PM. Students were welcomed by Mihajlo Jovanović, one of the course initiators, who also provided classroom furniture, ensuring a proper environment for the Romanian language course. In his speech, Mihajlo Jovanović thanked the attendees, who came in large numbers despite the unfavorable weather conditions.

The first lesson, which lasted approximately two hours, was conducted by Dr. Jasmina Glišić.

The necessary teaching materials, such as the interactive whiteboard and writing tools, were donated by Saša Milošević from Dubočka, who will also be responsible for acquiring additional educational materials.

Initially, this course was designed exclusively for adults, but to everyone's surprise, a large number of children attended, demonstrating the younger generation's strong interest in their mother tongue.
