On 13 May, the "Grandmothers" Women’s Association from Uzdin successfully organized the 16th edition of the renowned event "Proud is the Romanian Costume". The event was part of the "Night of Museums" program and was first launched in 2008. Each year, dozens of women and associations from both Romania and abroad participate joyfully. Visitors had the opportunity to admire meticulously crafted traditional costumes, including some over a hundred years old, and to enjoy traditional sweets.
Women’s associations from Uzdin, Mesici, Nicolinț, Alibunar, Satu Nou, Ecica, Ovcea, Iancaid, Maka, Timișoara, and the commune of Macea in Arad County, exhibited their traditional costumes at the event.
The event was highlighted by the special participation of children from "Saint George" Elementary School in Uzdin, who presented a folkloric performance and ancient customs under the name "Children’s Wedding". They were lovingly prepared by the school staff, and the musical accompaniment was provided by the Macea ensemble.
