Culture has been identified as a priority area for the financing of projects from the Budget Fund, according to a recent session of the Council for National Minorities held at the Government of the Republic of Serbia. The session, which took place on 22 June, was chaired by the Minister for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, Tomislav Žigmanov.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the national minority councils, as well as representatives from several ministries, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Information and Telecommunications, Ministry of Education, and the State Administration for Cooperation with Churches and Religious Communities.
The National Council of the Romanian National Minority was represented by its president, Dr. Valentin Ardelean. Minister Tomislav Žigmanov presented the future activities of his ministry aimed at improving the position and rights of members of national minorities. He emphasized that the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue will continue collaborating with state institutions at all levels of government responsible for areas important to national minorities.
