Romanian Dance Festival

The "Romanian Dance" Festival gathered on Saturday, 8 July 2023, in Jâtcovița, a multitude of enthusiastic participants ready to celebrate and preserve the traditional values of Romanian culture. The event had a profound impact on the local community and brought together distinguished representatives from various fields, emphasizing the importance of preserving and promoting these values.

Among the officials present were Mihai Șerban, representing the Romanian Embassy in Belgrade, Daniel Magdu, Executive President of the National Council of the Romanian National Minority, Iasmina Glișici, Vice President of the same Council, Stevan Mihailov, Vice President, and Mariana Stratulat, Director of the CPE “Libertatea” in Pančevo. They paid tribute to traditions and encouraged the community to continue safeguarding and promoting Romanian values in Serbia.

The event featured a series of artistic performances highlighting the rich cultural and traditional heritage of Romanians. The Grebenaț Brass Band opened the festival by performing the national anthems of Serbia and Romania, honoring both countries and their close relationship. Ensembles from Gornjane, Bor, and “Ciuleandra” from Râmnicu Vâlcea showcased the children's skill in preserving traditional dances and songs.

The powerful and moving voice of soloist Andriana Jovanović enchanted the audience, proving that traditional music can have a profound effect on our hearts. Additionally, the MISS candidates’ parade added a touch of elegance and beauty, highlighting the aesthetic aspects of Romanian culture.

The ensembles “Horeum Margi” from Isakova and “Junii Banatului” from Timișoara demonstrated mastery and perfect coordination of traditional dance, captivating the audience with graceful and energetic movements. Soloists such as Ileana Ocolișan-Baba, Goran Petković from Radenka, Mărioara Bârsan, and Petru Panduru added a special note to the event, blending tradition with artistic talent.

The "Romanian Dance" Festival was a unique opportunity to celebrate and preserve traditional cultural values. Ensembles from various regions, including Grebenaț, Klokočevac, Osanica, and Vlaole, demonstrated the diversity and richness of the Romanian community in Serbia. Instrumentalist Veljko Vladić and singer Florica Nicoli delighted the audience with their talent and passion.

The festival concluded with performances by ensembles from Boljetin, Vlaole, and Rudna Glava, showcasing their dedication and love for Romanian traditions.

The "Romanian Dance" Festival in Jâtcovița strongly reaffirmed the importance of preserving traditional values in a constantly changing world. By promoting and celebrating Romanian culture, the event contributed to maintaining the identity and unity of the Romanian community in Serbia.
