The vibrant echo of traditional Romanian music and dance resonated throughout Serbia, touching the hearts of the enthusiastic audience privileged to attend the 24th edition of the International Folklore Festival “Coroana Vârșețeană.” On the evening of Monday, 10 July, starting at 8:00 PM, the Folk Music Orchestra of the National Council of the Romanian National Minority (CNMNR) delivered an exceptional concert, highlighting the beauty and richness of Romanian traditional values.
The event was attended by prominent officials, underscoring the high-level recognition of the importance and value of Romanian traditional music. Notable attendees included Ninoslav Jovanović, Daniel Bala, Dr. Predrag Mijatovic, Dr. Valentin Ardelean, Daniel Magdu, Stevan Mihailov, Rodica Almăjan, Mariana Stratulat, Davor Stojković, and Sorin Ianeș.
The presentation was gracefully and professionally guided by Mirela Ardelean and Nicola Toager, who introduced each moment of the concert and ensured a strong connection between the performers and the audience.
Conductor Alexandru Frianț led the orchestra through a repertoire that included traditional pieces such as “Dudulinca” (arrangement by C. Arvinte) and “Suite of Melodies from Banat” (arrangement by Janiel Șublea), captivating the audience with the authenticity of the performances.
The Romanians’ Assembly from Ofcea complemented the concert with the traditional dance “Brâul fetelor” under the choreography of Grațiela Brăgean, while individual performances by Adrian Cebzan, Lorena Iovanovici, Sorin Jivcu, Denisa Peia, and Crăciun Crețu reflected the richness and diversity of Romanian traditions from Banat.
Other remarkable performances included Casa Tineretului Sân Mihai with “Ardelene din Banat” (choreographed by Denis Ardelean), Boian Bolianaț performing a Suite of Melodies from Transylvania, Snejan Veselinov with “When I Was a Child at My Father’s” and “Mândruliță mândră bălăioară,” Nelu Iencea with a suite of melodies from Banat, and the Association for Romanian Art and Culture Vichentie Petrovici Bocăluț – Torac with traditional girls’ dances from Banat (choreography by Adina Savici).
The evening concluded with the vibrant rhythms of “Învârtita,” arranged by C. Arvinte, ending an exceptional and emotional showcase of Romanian music and dance. These performances enriched the “Coroana Vârșețeană” Festival, reflecting the authenticity and depth of Romanian traditions.
