On 11 July, a major event took place in Novi Sad. Dr. Valentin Ardelean, President of the National Council of the Romanian National Minority, signed a funding contract with the Provincial Secretariat for Education, Regulations, Administration, and National Minorities, represented by Zsolt Szakállas, Vice President of the Provincial Government and Provincial Secretary for Education, Regulations, Administration, and National Minorities – National Communities.
The contract, valued at 668,896.00 dinars, is an important step in ensuring the sustainability of the National Council of the Romanian National Minority. These funds are intended to cover the Council’s ongoing activities and fixed expenses, enabling the organization to continue fulfilling its vital role in supporting the Romanian community in Serbia.
In the words of Zsolt Szakállas, this funding contract underscores the Provincial Government’s commitment to supporting national minorities by providing the necessary resources to operate effectively. Specifically, supporting the Council’s ongoing activities allows it to focus on improving the operational conditions of the Councils.
Meanwhile, Dr. Valentin Ardelean expressed gratitude for this financial support, emphasizing that the funding will ensure the uninterrupted functioning of the Council, allowing them to focus on developing and implementing essential programs and services for the community.
This funding contract represents recognition of the essential role the National Council of the Romanian National Minority plays in representing and supporting the Romanian community in Serbia. With these resources, the Council will be better equipped to fulfill its mandate, ensuring that the voice of the Romanian minority remains strong and clear.
