ARC Camp, 14th Edition in Sulina – An Unforgettable Experience for Children from Historical Communities

8 August 2023

ARC Camp Sulina 2023

SULINA – The 14th edition of the ARC Camp concluded successfully in Sulina, bringing together over 5,000 children from the diaspora and historical communities. In this special edition, we are proud to highlight the presence of no fewer than 160 children from Serbia, accompanied by their guardians, between 17–24 and 24–31 July.

After a long journey, the participants were warmly welcomed by the Sulina team, who organized the accommodation and the full schedule of activities. The organization and funding were provided by DPRP, ensuring a high-quality experience for everyone present.

Beyond relaxing moments at the beach, the youth enjoyed a variety of educational workshops and recreational activities. Workshops included Romanian language courses for beginners and advanced students, national history, Romanian geography, and arts. Additionally, sports enthusiasts had the chance to participate in competitions and games such as football, table tennis, volleyball, basketball, and chess.

Another highlight was the visit to the impressive Danube Delta. To complete the cultural experience, guided tours through the town of Sulina were organized, where the young participants explored the rich history of this significant location. Points of interest included the Cathedral, the Cosmopolitan and Maritime Cemeteries, and the Palace of the European Commission of the Danube.

Among the notable personalities present at the camp were Liviu Urlih, camp director in Sulina, and Adi Bradeanu from DPRP. Representing the National Council of the Romanian National Minority were Traian Cacina, Mariana Stratulat, Mărioara Sfera, and secretary Marian Mohan.

Above all activities and shared experiences, ARC Camp fulfilled its most important goal: fostering new friendships and awakening a sense of national belonging. For many children, it was an opportunity to learn more about Romania and to feel pride in being Romanian.

ARC Camp continues to demonstrate that through education, sports, and culture, we can build bridges between young people, strengthening bonds and fostering a sense of belonging to the Romanian nation.
