During the 15 September meeting of the CNMNR Executive Council, held at C.P.E. “Libertatea”—where the CNMNR office was recently opened in Panciova— numerous decisions were made to support and promote the development and integration of the Romanian minority.
Prioritizing Education:
One of the most significant decisions was the allocation of scholarships for students. The Executive Council discussed and approved scholarships for pupils entering the first grade who follow the Romanian-language curriculum. Primary schools with Romanian-language instruction, including “Borislav Petrov Braca” High School in Vârșeț and “Dositej Obradović” School of Economics and Commerce in Alibunar, will benefit from this initiative. These measures highlight CNMNR’s commitment to education within the Romanian community.
Promoting Culture:
In addition to educational initiatives, the Council emphasized the promotion of culture. Proposals were made for members to join the supervisory boards of important cultural institutions in Vârșeț: City Museum, City Library, and Sterija National Theatre. Adriana Stojanović, Mariana Ćurčić, and Monica Luca were nominated for these positions. It was also decided to propose and approve Violeta Borca from Straja as a member of the supervisory board of the Vârșeț Cultural Center, and Rahela Căcina from Vârșeț was nominated and approved as a member of the Youth Center supervisory board.
Furthermore, the Council officially recognized the “Golden Spikes” International Doina Festival as a traditional event and approved the launch of a competition to organize it.
These decisions of the CNMNR Executive Council reflect its vision and commitment to supporting and promoting culture and education within the Romanian minority.
