On 5 October, the Bucharest National Opera witnessed a remarkable demonstration of Romanian values through its outstanding people, when representatives of the diaspora were honored at the “Top 100 Romanians Worldwide” Gala, part of the RePatriot project.
RePatriot, initiated by Romanian Business Leaders, connects the diaspora with the homeland through volunteer work and recognition of Romanians worldwide, fostering global communities and promoting Romanian values internationally.
The event highlighted 100 exceptional Romanians from various fields – entrepreneurship, sports, science, and arts – whose work inspires the entire nation. Attendees also enjoyed an outstanding cultural performance, featuring classical music interpreted by artists of the Bucharest National Opera.
At the center of this recognition was Stevan Mihailov, Vice President of CNMNR and Coordinator of the Information Department, whose dedication to the Romanian community in Serbia makes him a living example of RePatriot’s vision.
“I am deeply honored and moved by this recognition. This award represents not only personal achievement but also the collective effort of all Romanians actively promoting Romanian culture in Serbia.”
Mihailov emphasized the importance of every Romanian maintaining a connection to their cultural roots and delivered an inspiring message to the younger generation: to continue promoting Romanian identity wherever they may be.
“Each of us carries a spark of Romania’s soul, no matter where we are. I thank everyone for their support and encouragement!”
The evening was an emotional one, celebrating individual achievements and the collective strength of the Romanian community in a spirit of national pride and solidarity.
